CUSTOM COVER PROCESS
STAGE ONE
REQUEST FORM & AVAILABILITY
Fill out the custom cover form with as much details as possible. The more you include the better I can understand your vision. And if you are able, a simple sketch (no matter the quality) would be extremely helpful. Remember, a picture is worth a thousand words.
STAGE TWO
DEPOSIT AND DESIGN BRIEF
I will contact you to discuss your project in more detail if needed. It may take a few emails before I can offer a quote. Once you received your quote; to accept, make your booking payment to secure your date.
STAGE THREE
DESIGN
I start your cover design based on the details you provided, then send you a link where you can view the first round of design mockup.
Please note: Unless you have paid the full amount, all images shared will be watermarked.
STAGE FOUR
REVISIONS
You submit revision requests, and when you do, the more details, the better — it saves you rounds of revisions.
After, I’ll make those revisions and send a proof for your approval.
STAGE FIVE
FINAL APPROVAL & PAYMENT
Once the proof is finalised, a request for payment (minus the booking fee) will be sent over paypal. All prices are in USD.
STAGE SIX
FILE DELIVERY
Once payment is received, I’ll send you the final cover files (with the watermarks removed), including the ebook cover and any extras you ordered.
FAQs
What if I need to cancel a booking?
◎ If you cancel more than a week before your scheduled start date, any payments you’ve made can be refunded (minus a $10 cancellation fee) or credited toward future projects.
◎ If you cancel less than a week before your project start date, you forfeit your booking fee, however it can be credited toward future projects.
◎ There are no fees for rescheduling.
What is your availability?
I always try to fit in customers into my schedule, please fill out the CONTACT form with your desired date and a few details about your cover, and I will contact you as soon as possible.
Do you accept every design brief?
Not always. My goal is to create covers that are genre-appropriate, marketable, and aligned with the Silvermist Designs style.
If a requested brief relies on visuals that don’t suit the book’s genre, mixes incompatible art styles, or would result in a design that isn’t cohesive or professional, I’ll let you know before any work begins.
In rare cases, if the direction falls outside my stylistic strengths or would compromise the visual quality I’m known for, I may decline or discontinue the project. If that happens, I’ll refund any unused portion of your payment and, if possible, recommend designers whose style is a better match for your vision.
My priority is always to ensure you get a cover you can be proud of — and one that positions your book strongly in its market.

Can I use the cover design on other merchandising?
Images used in the covers only come with a standard license.
Which includes the rights to print runs (or downloads) of up to 500,000 units. For books of over 500,000 units, additional licensing fees may apply. And the images used in the cover are not licensed for merchandising or other accessories. Extended licenses must be purchased for such cases.
Where do you get your stock images from?
I use a variety of websites including: Deposit photos, Shutterstock, Adobe Stock, Neostock, and some other boutique stores such as, Fantasy Backgrounds, Kick Ass Render Shop, Render Stock, and The Render Shop.
Do you use AI Images?
Currently, I do not use any AI images in my pre-made or custom covers unless requested by the customer.
Please note: There are many AI images for sale on stock image suppliers, and while I do my best not to purchase AI stock images, I do not take responsibility for images purchased from stock sites that are wrongly labelled. There have been cases recently where the artist supplying the image does not reveal that their image is AI generated, and as AI image generation has improved dramatically over the last year, it is becoming more and more difficult to tell them apart.
